Waymo, google’sroofing company Alphabet’ssolution unit for autonomous driving technologies, will soon be available in fully driverless cars. Waymo first appeared in 2009, and began test drives in 2016 and has been test-driving in different cities in the United States for nearly three years.
Although the vehicles were autonomous in the tests conducted by Waymo, a Waymo employee was in the driver’s seat for driving safety. Waymo, which sent an email to its users today, shared that the next Waymo rides could be completely driverless.
The e-mail underlined that fully driverless Waymo cars are on the road. In short, Waymo will soon begin test drives with no one in the driver’s seat. As a reminder, Waymo’s driverless car tests are conducted with the Chrysler Pacifica.
In December last year, Waymo also introduced the driverless car recall app Waymo One,and a few days ago, another story came up. The company is continuing its testing in the U.S. state of Arizona and will soon begin test drives in Los Angeles, California.
