Virtual Try On comes to Pinterest after YouTube



In June last year, pinterest announced that it was streaming the virtual try on feature after YouTube announced its new AR ad model, “Virtual Try On.” For now, only lipstick applies to the property so users will be able to shop at The Urban Decay brand of Estée Lauder, Sephora, bareMinerals, Neutrogena, NYX Professional Makeup, YSL Beauté, Lancôme and L’Oréal.

Those who want to test Virtual Try On must first make a call by turning on Pinterest’s Lens feature. Users can then press the “Try” button to experience different colors of lipstick as an augmented reality filter. Just scroll the screen to buy the product you like. If you don’t want to use the Lens feature of the app to access Virtual Try on, let’s say you need to enter lipstick-related keywords into pinterest’s search engine.

Pinterest, meanwhile, says it doesn’t use filters that make your skin look perfect as part of Virtual Try On. This allows you to see in advance whether the lipstick colors you test will really suit you. Let’s also add that the feature is integrated with Pinterest’s skin colours feature. This allows users to easily discover lipstick colors that match their skin colors.



Pinterest is also in serious demand, especially in the cosmetics industry, which has received more and more attention with content producers on Instagram and YouTube. According to Pinterest, 52 million people from the United States each month search for beauty content on Pinterest and interact with them.

In addition, 87 per cent of beauty and personal care Pinners actively come to Pinterest while thinking about what to buy, according to a 2018 study by GfK. These Pinners also regularly turn to the platform to access more traditional suggestions such as “bright lips” or “pink lips” as well as more trendy ideas such as “ombre lip” or “black lipstick.” Let’s add that the keywords we use in the example above are the most sought-after words in lip focus in 2019.

Pinterest’s Virtual Try On feature is the reason she’s putting on the air with lipstick from makeup gear because the most searched cosmetic product on the platform is lipstick.
