TikTok’s growth in the U.S. slows

After being merged with the acquired by ByteDance in 2016, TikTok has been positioned as the world’s most valuable venture. TikTok, which opened to the world in 2017, has been a favorite of young people and has managed to achieve significant growth.

TikTok added 500 million users to its platform this year and reached a total of 1.5 billion users after 2 and a half years. However, according to SensorTower data, TikTok’s quarter-by-quarter growth began to slow for the first time.

The number of first-time downloaders in the last quarter reached 177 million, while TikTok fell 4 per cent compared to the same period last year. The decline is associated with the company’s downgrade of its budget for Facebook advertising disruptions shown in the United States. In connection with this, the US user base is declining.

TikTok, who was recently called to speak in the U.S. senate to question the company’s relations with the Chinese government, has announced that it will not send any representations to testify.

TikTok, which was recently brought up by the censorship of Mark Zuckerberg’s speech on freedom of expression, could face a serious barrier in the United States in the coming days in terms of growth.
