TikTok,a byteDance-owned short video app that is becoming more popular, has reached a total of 1.5 billion downloads, according to data from both the App Store and the Google Play Store. Almost a third of ByteDance’s users are in India, according to a report by SensorTower.
SensorTower says the app has been downloaded 614 million times this year, up 6 percent more downloads than in the same period last year. The research firm also said the video making app reached 655 million unique downloads last year. However, there are more downloaded apps than TikTok. WhatsApp is downloaded by 707.4 million people and the number of downloads of Messenger is 636.2 million.
When we look at Sensor Tower’s report, we can see that TikTok has surpassed apps like Facebook and Instagram and is at an important standin the competition.
At this point, TikTok has made several changes around the world. The company is testing its social trading feature, and with this feature it is possible to add urls into bio. Last month, he launched an e-education programme in India called EduTok and banned political ads in the EU and the United States.
TikTok’s success in numbers also scares his competitors. Earlier this week, Facebook launched a TikTok-like feature called “Reels” on Instagram Stories in Brazil. The social network is trying to cross TikTok in many ways, but despite all the copies, it has not found a way to beat the app. We’ll see what happens in the future.
