Elon Musk announced in a tweet that a new power train will be produced to accelerate the Tesla Model S, Model X and Roadster. In addition to Elon Musk on Wednesday and Thursday, tweets posted on Tesla’s Twitter account revealed that the company was working on a new, higher-capacity power train.
This powertrain, called Plaid, will take its place in the Model S Sedan, Model X SUV and Roadster sports car within a year. However, this technology will not be used in the Model 3 sedan or Model Y SUV.
When the Tesla team named out the new mechanism, it was not lost to the fact that it was inspired by a scene in spaceballs. With this name, the film refers to an unusually high-speed spacecraft.
In fact, Musk even tweeted today, “Plaid is the only thing beyond Ludicrous.” It is worth remembering that Ludicrous is a driving setting in the Model S and Model X that allows you to maximize the vehicle’s speed, while Tesla has not yet given detailed information about Plaid.
Let’s remind you that rimac, the electric car company that Porche recently acquired more shares, has come to prominence with the C Two car making 411 kilometres per hour. The vehicle can go from zero to 96 km/h in 1.85 seconds, beating Tesla’s Roadster prototype at speed. Tesla may be preparing to strengthen its rivalry with Rimac with Plaid production.
