Revenue from mobile app subscriptions reached $4.6 billion



Today, mobile applications, which are important parts of our lives, continue to become increasingly popular. According to the information we are seeing today, revenue from mobile app subscriptions in the United States increased by 21 percent compared to the previous year.

Revenue from mobile app subscriptions in the United States reached $4.6 billion in 2019, according to data shared by mobile app analysis firm Sensor Tower. By comparison, the previous year, revenue from mobile app subscriptions was $3.8 billion.

Another important information shared was the share of the $4.6 billion in revenue from mobile app subscriptions in total revenue from mobile apps. In 2019, mobile apps generate $24 billion in revenue on iOS and Android platforms. Revenue from mobile app subscriptions accounts for 19 percentof total revenue.



When we look at the top 100 apps for mobile app subscriptions, we see the Tinder app in first place. In 2019, 10 percent of the $4.6 billion in revenue from mobile app subscriptions was generated by Tinder alone.

Let’s add that $4.6 billion in subscription revenue is the total revenue on both iOS and Android platforms. $4.6 billion, $3.6 billion, was obtained only from the iOS platform. By comparison, the iOS platform generated $3.1 billion in revenue from mobile app subscriptions in 2018. In short, there is a 16 percent increase in 2018.

When we look at two platforms, Tinder is the most revenue-generating app for mobile app subscriptions, but youtube is the app that generates the most revenue from subscriptions on the iOS platform. When we look at the Android side, Pandora came up as the most revenue-generating app from subscriptions in 2019.
