Facebook to open privacy-themed cafe

Facebook has moved to organise 5 pop-up café events in the UK so users can receive information about their privacy settings on the social network.

The company will hold its first pop café event on 28 and 29 August at The Attendant in London’s Great Eastern Street. The Union Brew Lab Coffee Bar in Edinburgh is also expected to temporarily become a Facebook café.

Cafes, Facebook’s free privacy check will be offered to users who want to have coffee again free of charge. The privacy check will ensure that users do not share too much information with others.

Steve Hatch, Facebook’s Vice President for Northern Europe, said in a statement that these pop-up cafes will help them learn more about how to manage users’ privacy settings.

Hatch added that all this information will be made shortly while the coffees are being made.
