Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos arrives in Istanbul



Jeff Bezos, CEO of amazon, the world’s most important retail giant, arrived in Turkey today on his private plane. A few months ago, jeff bezos holidaying in Bodrum, the reason for coming to Turkey is not for work. Bezos came to Turkey to commemorate Cemal Spoonci, the author of The Washington Post, who was killed last year.

If you recall, Jeff Bezos bought The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million. After this acquisition, which we can call one of the most important media acquisitions of recent times, Jeff Bezos became the new owner of The Washington Post.



Last year, journalist Cemal Kspoonci, who was killed on October 2nd, is commemorated at the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul, where he was murdered on the anniversary of his death. The commemoration ceremony in front of the consulate symbolically began a year ago at 13:14, the time spoonful entered the building. At the commemoration ceremony, Spoonmaker’s fiancee Hatice Cengiz, UN Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard, former Egyptian politician Ayman Nur and Turkish Arab Media Association (TAM) President Turan Winterlakci will give speeches. Jeff Bezos will also be among the participants.

It is unclear how long Jeff Bezos will stay in the country or whether he will visit Amazon’s office, which began operations in Turkey last year.
